The nbn Fibre Connect program allows eligble properties with nbn Fibre to the Node (FTTN) and nbn Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) connections to upgrade to a full fibre FTTP connection for free on eligible plans.
You'll need to arrange the upgrade with your ISP. Not all ISP's can do the upgrade. You'll also need to sign up for a plan with a minimum download speed of 100Mbps. You can find out more here.
Currently, on residential plans, you can get maximum download speeds of 1000Mbps. However, from September 2025, you'll be able to get maximum download speeds of up to 2000Mbps on residential plans.
While there is no requirement to upgrade to FTTP, it is recommended, as it future-proofs your property, and allows you to unlock faster speeds.
There shouldn't be any problems regarding your equipment when upgrading. However, every device is different, so contact the manufacturer, or consult the instruction manual for more information.
